  Company

Tethys Himalayan Tours has evolved as a result of the extensive travels of its founder Kapil Negi and his team. Kapil, a poet and an avid photographer and his team has been traveling all over the Western Himalayas for 15 long years.

During all these travels, they have not only accumulated the knowledge and wisdom of this special Land and its people but have also strongly embodied THE SPIRIT OF HIMALAYA , which all the sages and Guru’s have been describing for centuries.

For thousands of years Himalayas have always been a never-ending storehouse for many Artistes, poets, mystics, geologists, historians and nature lovers. It is truly a Natural – historical and cultural Wonderland.

The Company is engaged in operating adventure, cultural and eco tours all over the Western Himalayan Region of Himachal, Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti, Pangi, Kishtwar and Gharhwal. Most of the tours are personally assisted by Kapil and his team of guides, who have been exploring this region with him from the very start. All the tours are so designed that the participants interact not only with the Land and its people but also experience the very soul of The Himalayas.

  Strength

Our strength lies in the extensive cooperation and involvement of the native folks in the area of our operations. They have all been trained and educated by our experienced team over the years. Being sons of the soil, they carry an innate knowledge and thorough understanding of the region.

  Guides and support staff

Engagement of the native people not only provides good opportunity for local employment but also gives maximum to our clients during their travels. There is long history of trust and friendship with all our guides and support staff. All our guides are hardworking mountain people from Ladakh, Himachal, Uttaranchal and Nepal.

They have been trained to follow high standards of safety. Vast experiences of the trade have helped them develop excellent communication skills to act as a bridge between our clients and the locals.

Years of experience have refined the culinary and professional skills of our Kitchen staff.

  Cultural Exchange with home stays

We have also involved some of the native families or monasteries in the remote region of Kinnaur – Spiti, Ladakh, and Gharhawal to act as host for our clients. As a result those especially interested in cultural interaction and Eco tours get an opportunity to stay and share the experiences of the natives. This provides a unique cross-cultural exchange which leads to an increased awareness and a special bond that makes our clients want to return time and again. And this interaction not only brings monitory benefits to the locals but also makes them aware of the good and bad sides of tourism. This serves our higher purpose of making tourism an all inclusive and mutually beneficial enterprise.

  Equipment

We continuously upgrade our equipment. Our tents and sleeping bags are also of the highest quality. Our kitchen, dining and toilet tents are custom-made for us. The quality of the linen, crockery, cutlery and other camping equipment is also of the highest standard.
