This
trek route follows an old Shepard trail
between Kangra and Kullu. Trek starts from
Manali through a massive forest of Giant
Deodar (Cedar), Alder and oak. The trail
gradually climbs to the lush green meadow
of Lamadugh. Brilliant shrubs of Rhododendron
and Birch pave the way. The higher meadows
of Khanpari offer excellent view of the
mountain peaks of Kullu and Lahaul. Usually
After 15th June or if snow conditions permits
then may be earlier in the year, one can
trek to the top of Kalihani pass (4,797
Mts.). The walk to the top (Sept –
Oct) is on moraine and ice which remain
covered with snow in May and June. Breathtaking
view envelops the crest of the Pass. To
the West one can view tremendous view of
Dhauladhar Range. Return back to the meadows
and then straddle through the ridge to finally
descent on road head at Pangan Village,
Village also houses a Monastery and nunnery.
