Trek to the Malana Glacier over Chanderkhani Pass
A Tryst with Valley of Gods

Highlights of the Trek.

Chanderkhani Pass (3650 Mts.): views of the upper Malana Valley and the high peaks in the upper Tosh Valley, including White Sail (6446m) and Papsura (6451m).

Bijlimahadev: Situated on a elevated hump between the twin Valleys of Beas and Parvati, Bijlimahadev is a perfect vintage point. It provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the whole Kullu region. Here is Temple dedicated to Bijlihahadev, one of the manifestations of Lord Shiva as a protector from the natural calamities.

Malana Glacier: Close proximity to the many high peaks towering around.

Malana Village: Malana Village is a small community of ancient tribal people, who have a unique culture and their very own government. It is said that this society is the mix of the soldiers of the Alexander the Greats Army, who stayed back and intermarried with the local women. This community known for its oldest surviving democracy in the World, said to be modeled on the ancient Greek City states. Some also regard them as tribe migrated from central Asia.

 

Season : Mid May – October

July and August:
This may be the best time to explore the rare Himalayan Flora as all the meadows are carpeted by variety of alpine flowers, but there are chances of encountering the monsoon rain during this period. Mid May – Mid June and from 2nd week of the September till end October is the best time.

Region : Kullu (Beas and Parvati Valley’s).
Altitude: Max: 3840 Mts. (Malana Glacier)
Trek Duration: 9 days + 1 day of excursion at Naggar.
Trek Grade: Easy - Moderate
